I always thought that if you want to be the best, you have to work harder than everyone else— Lionel Messi

The PAL Soccer Skills Camp is focused on teaching basic skills including but not limited to passing, dribbling, and controlled shooting. Participants will learn hard work, determination, and discipline through off the ball fitness that will prepare them for drills, scrimmages, and can also be utilized to cross train for other sports. Each session begins with a warmup and stretch before transitioning into drills. The session will end with a small-sided scrimmage to put the newly learned skills to the test! Age requirement is 6-13.

Det. Mohit Kumar
Mohit Kumar, 32, is a Clovis native whose lifelong dedication to athletics began at an early age. He grew up competing in multiple sports—including football, cross country, and basketball—but it was soccer that ultimately captured his passion. Mohit spent over 15 years playing the game, from club soccer to representing Clovis East High School, where he continued sharpening his skills and love for the sport.
Beyond outdoor play, Mohit has several years of experience competing in indoor soccer, adding a fast-paced dimension to his understanding of the game. His involvement didn't end on the field—he also served as a youth soccer referee, gaining valuable insight into sportsmanship, discipline, and the rules that shape the sport.
Today, Mohit works as a Detective with the Fresno Police Department. Despite a demanding career, he remains committed to mentoring young athletes, using his experience and leadership to guide and inspire the next generation of players. His journey reflects a balance of service, dedication, and a genuine passion for helping youth grow both on and off the field.

CSO Jesus Gallardo
While previously being a Police Cadet I for approximately 2 years with the Fresno Police department, Jesus has become a dedicated Community Service Officer II for the last year who has always been inspired to give back to the community and be a positive role model for the future generation.
Born and raised in Fresno, CA, Jesus has been playing competitive club soccer since he was 10 years old with local clubs such as Clovis Crossfire and Bullard United primarily as a goalie and defender. He also played for Edison High school during his time in school showing his love for the sport. Jesus also has wide affinity for playing other sports such as tennis, football, baseball, and basketball to showcase his athleticism.

CSO Shaun Flores
Shaun Flores is a dedicated Community Services Officer II whose passion for service, community engagement, and mentorship has been shaped by a lifetime of teamwork and discipline. Growing up in Madera, Shaun spent his youth on the baseball field, playing catcher and first base through high school. His love for sports and teaching naturally led him to coaching, where he spent five years guiding Clovis Rec 12U softball teams. Over time, coaching became more than an activity—it became a way for Shaun to give back, share his skills, and help young athletes grow.
Although he had never played soccer growing up, Shaun's coworkers encouraged him to join an indoor league a few years ago. He quickly discovered a new passion for the sport. When asked to coach PAL soccer, he didn't hesitate. For Shaun, being able to teach kids, support their growth, and see the joy on their faces is deeply meaningful and one of the most rewarding parts of his connection to the community.
Shaun's commitment to public service is rooted in his family's history in the military and law enforcement. At fourteen, he became a Police Explorer with the Madera Police Department, and at twenty-one, he proudly served as a volunteer. These early experiences strengthened his desire to pursue a career in law enforcement and instilled a deep sense of duty to protect others.
Although Shaun began his career as a Correctional Officer, injuries sustained on duty changed his path. With resilience, determination, and the support of his loved ones, he pushed forward—never losing sight of his calling. Today, as a Community Services Officer II, Shaun brings compassion, purpose, and unwavering dedication to his work. His journey has not been easy, but it has been meaningful, shaped by service, community, and a commitment to making a positive impact in the place he proudly calls home.
