Building self-esteem and confidence in our youth.

“Fresno Police Activities League (PAL) brings Fresno Police officers and the youth in our community together through educational, athletic, and recreational activities while building strong, lasting relationships in the process.  I am grateful for the ongoing partnership with Fresno PAL and look forward to the continued success of the program.”

About US

Officer Lindsay Dozier of the Fresno Police Department created the Fresno PAL Fight girls program to help young girls build self-esteem and positive relationships with law enforcement. Inspired by her own experience with karate as a shy child, Dozier became a lifelong athlete and police officer. While working as a school resource officer, she recognized a need to support preteen and teenage girls dealing with challenges like insecurity, bullying, and social pressure.

In April 2020, Dozier and fellow female officers began teaching fitness kickboxing to girls aged 14 to 17. The program, which has since expanded, includes physical training and group discussions on relevant topics, helping participants improve their confidence and overcome issues like social anxiety.
